The flagship branch of Jordan Ahli Bank serves as a benchmark for the evolution of banking services, emphasizing a harmonious blend of aesthetic appeal and modern functionality.

The design incorporates open spaces that encourage dialogue and interaction, breaking down barriers typically associated with financial institutions. Technology is seamlessly integrated into the customer journey, providing tools that streamline processes and enhance accessibility. This commitment to a personalized banking experience positions Jordan Ahli Bank as a forward-thinking leader in the financial sector.

The project involves reimagining the aesthetic of a bank that has been a cornerstone of the community since 1955, celebrating its rich past while embracing future technologies. The bank aims to transform its branches into inviting spaces for its family of clients, fostering a friendlier experience. To achieve this, the design employs a duality in materials; the humble raw OSB wood finish juxtaposes with digitally printed glass, effectively symbolising the institution’s historical legacy and innovative outlook. This integration occurs within a striking double-volume space, enhancing the sense of connection between the bank’s heritage and its commitment to modernity.

Flexible functional space design allows the upper section of the branch to seamlessly transition between serving as a customer service and co-working area during the day to a vibrant community event space in the evening. This adaptability is achieved through innovative smart furniture solutions that retract, fold, stack, or plug into the walls, enabling the space to be reconfigured in under ten minutes. The ability to quickly alter the layout and function of the area not only maximises its utility but also enhances the overall experience for users by catering to diverse needs throughout the day and night.

Our design thoughtfully incorporates the talents of local designers, artists, and artisans, reflecting a community-focused approach. For the tables, we utilised locally sourced upcycled natural stone, showcasing sustainable practices and regional craftsmanship. The wall decorations feature a distinctive tapestry by artist Ishrak Zureikat, adding a unique cultural touch to the space. The customised concrete tiles and bespoke glass pendants, crafted from recycled glass, enhance the design while supporting local artisans.
